Omolangidi are Yoruba wooden dolls carved as toys for young girls. Typically created by apprentices as their first carving, Omolangidi meaning 'child of wood' are usually carried, secured by a baby carrying wrapper, on the backs of young girls during mother-child role play. The dolls generally have rectangular, flat torsos to aid carrying and might feature geometric patterns carved out in relief.
High crested coiffure, slightly protruding eyes and tribal scarification marks on both cheeks.
